Sangram, Arunachal Pradesh.
"Ha achi", she said, her head bent so I couldn't see her face. Without knowing what it meant, I felt the phrase pull at me.
"What does that mean?", I asked.
"Ask Sister", and she turned and quickly stepped out of the kitchen.
"It means, my heart is aching", Sister said.
And now, gno ha achi.

Damn.. you're in Arunachal? I envy you.. :-)
I was planning on my anniversary trip today.. and Arunachal was Bai's choice.. lets see if it happens :-)
@Sid - Was in Arunachal for less than a week over the New Year. It's a beautiful experience. Where in Arunachal are you planning to go to?
Dunno... Bai decides all that.. she keeps saying Tawang though. I always get a bit worried if it's safe over there.. :-) My experience in Shillong wasn't too good, albeit exciting.
Where did you stay? If you stayed at a hotel, could you send me the hotel name etc.?
I was in Sangram, a small village in the Kurung Kumey district (East Arunachal) and stayed with some missionaries that my friend knows. Can't help with hotels etc.
What happened in Shillong?
I thought so... that you wouldn't know about hotels :-)
Shillong --- on my honeymoon. We had to leave in a day because there was a 3-day curfew after that! No place to eat, no place to go to.. destroyed our plan totally :-)
Guwahati was full of patrolmen. I assumed the entire north east was dicey for trips..
I didn't face any problems in Arunachal.... though they do say that flash strikes happen every so often. Just keep the digits crossed.
You went to the other AP too ? Cool... looking forward to the travelogue...
Btw, nice phrase - what is "gno" ?
[Btw, the word verification that i need to type for commenting - hongsgu - is that also a Arunachala Phrase ?]
@EnGeetham - yup... went to AP over the New Year.
"Gno" is "My". I have no idea about the hongsgu though.
